PRESS RELEASE

Working to build a brighter future!

The Lumberton Housing Authority has secured over $2.8 million through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) Capital Fund Program to support critical housing improvements, modernization, and furthering housing sustainability.

HUD has engaged in a multi-year commitment to improve the subsidized housing inventory while recognizing the performance and commitment of over 2,700 housing agencies that are committed to quality housing.  The funds received by the Lumberton Housing Authority are part of a $3.17 billion national investment for 2026.

Adrian Lowery, Executive Director of the Lumberton Housing Authority, states that "We are working diligently to not only to continue to recover from past natural disasters, but to utilize every source available to provide a more modern and sustainable housing solution for our communities."

"Part of the funding received will support ongoing rehabilitation projects, repair 50-year-old plumbing and electrical system in our oldest communities, improve building envelope systems, and start bringing our Turner Terrace units online that have been vacant since 2016," says Lowery.

The Lumberton Housing Authority remains committed to providing safe and affordable housing to the City of Lumberton.
